Below, we will look at a few of our favorite tips to help you make the most of your time at the campground, whether it’s your first adventure or one of many. Check out these RV tips below for easy planning and setup at the campground.
Get to Know Your RV
Before you go anywhere, take some time to get to know your RV practice, hooking up all of your hoses and managing the slide-outs and everything. The more you know about your camper, the easier it will be to set up once you arrive at the campground.
Book Your Campsite Ahead of Time
Call the campground well ahead of time to book your stay, especially if you’re planning a vacation during the busy season. Most of the time, you will need to book a campsite a few weeks to a few months ahead of time, so do your research and ensure you have a campground to go to instead of getting there and hoping someone can accommodate you.
Make a Packing Checklist
Be sure you don’t leave anything essential behind by creating a camping checklist. You can find templates for these online or create your own, depending on your family and what you plan to do during your stay. However, you decide to do this. Keep the checklist with you after you’ve packed and make adjustments to improve the checklist for next time.
Plan for Rain
Lastly, no matter where you going or what season you’re traveling in. Be sure to plan for rain. The last thing you want to do is get caught without the supplies you need to accommodate a camping trip during the rain. You’ll need tarps to keep everything dry and plenty of things to do if you’re cooped up in the camper.
